The Anti-virus Times is wondering: What’s the safest day of the year from an information security standpoint? There is no way we can count all threats on the Internet, but we can review Dr.Web's statistics about the threats discovered.

The Anti-virus Times recommends

  • The days you (or your system administrator) have off can be particularly productive for attackers. They are more active during holidays—this is when an attack is likely to remain undetected for a longer period of time.
  • Doctor Web's experience shows that many users (and system administrators) prefer to purchase or renew their license after a long holiday period to save some money. The data we've provided above shows that nothing good can come of that. Also, remember that you may not have a chance to buy a new license immediately after your holidays are over because stores are operated by human beings who may be unable to process all the requests they receive in an instant.
