Get those settings protected
Thursday, March 9, 2017
The Dr.Web anti-virus is equipped with a self-protection feature that prevents anyone from interfering with its operation. This feature, which becomes active as soon as the operating system is loaded, reliably protects the anti-virus from malware as well as from the actions of users who seek to elevate their privileges. However, this protection has its limits—if the hard drive gets damaged, the user will reinstall the operating system. In this case, the system settings can get corrupted or completely wiped out.
#Dr.Web_settingsThe Anti-virus Times recommends
Once you've set up all the protection parameters, including those of the Parental Control, save the settings. This will enable you to roll back any changes you make that you’re not happy with, import the settings to other computers, or restore the settings after reinstalling the system.
To save the current settings, click on the icon (it will now look like ); then click on the icon , and in the Settings menu, select Main. In the section Manage settings, in the drop-down list, select Export.
To restore the settings, choose Import in the drop-down list.
To protect the settings so no one can change them (and subsequently save them into a file), it is recommended that you password-protect them. You can set a password in the Main settings section.
